Jessica was instrumental in making our day-long trip to Xi'an memorable. She packed in as much as possible ensuring we got a flavour of the Muslim Quarter, the city and of course, the Terracotta Warriors. Her knowledge, expertise and anecdotes combined with her command over English made it easy for us to understand the history and its nuances. Our frequent food and shopping halts did not rattle her, in fact she guided us on those. She was in complete control of our plan. Thank you for making our visit so special Jessica!
Our guide Jasmine had us start the day early due to the fact that it was Chinese New Year holidays. She was exceptionally knowledgeable in regards to Chinese history and gave us lots of information while we were travelling. Our driver was very courteous and as we were a slightly older group was happy to assist us in and out of the transport. Our first stop was the Warriors, there was a huge volume of people and we were amazed that Jasmine was able to keep her four Aussie tourists from getting swept away in the surge of people. Lunch was at a local restaurant where we tasted several local dishes that she recommended, all were really tasty. We then went to see the cave dweller which was incredible, that people actually lived permanently in caves carved out by hand. The cave owner was so friendly and showed us around and offered us tea. We then went to see the Muslim Street food area and a Mosque which was a buzz of people again due to New Year. Unfortunately I am unable to post a photo but I can assure you we took plenty. All in all it was an amazing experience made great by our guide and I would recommend this tour to anyone - just maybe not during Chinese New Year. Gail S.
Fantastic program! Must-to-do in Xi'an as cycling on the City Walls or Terracota Warriors, but a lot of other interesting activities as well: my best were calligraphy lesson, dumplings with local family, pharmaceutical market, HanYangling mausoleum and last but not least - fantastic food tour in the Muslim Quarter, with brave muslim ladies who drove tuk-tuks as prof. Thanks to our guide, Victoria, who made these four days to unforgettable experience.
